About Me

Kristy Brown is a Los Angeles-based journalist and Loyola Marymount University graduate whose reporting focuses on housing, homelessness, community organizing, health equity, cultural preservation and Black and Brown communities.

Brown earned her B.A. in Journalism from Loyola Marymount University in December 2025, graduating Cum Laude. Her background in legal and administrative work strengthened her attention to detail, research skills and understanding of how institutions affect everyday people.

A South Los Angeles native, Brown’s passion for reporting on underrepresented communities is rooted in the resilience and brilliance she has witnessed in neighborhoods too often overlooked or misrepresented in the media. Her work examines injustice while honoring the people and communities whose perseverance, creativity and leadership deserve fuller, more thoughtful coverage.
